The management of building contractor Willemstad NV, the company involved in various renovation jobs at the Animal shelter and the Activity Center, has kindly decided to donate a large number of polo shirts to the Society for the Protection of Animals for the personnel of the Animal Shelter. On Friday May 9 Frits van Zwienen presented, on behalf of Willemstad NV, 300 polo shirts. From now on personnel and trainees will be wearing beautiful olive-green shirts, featuring the Shelter’s easily recognizable logo.
Most generous wonderful support!

The International School of Curaçao contains a chapter of the National Junior Honor Society - intelligent, motivated students in grades 7 through 9, who group together performing public service work. Last month, the group decided to run a school-wide fundraising drive for the Animal Shelter and the Laura Wagner Foundation (this foundation introduced guide dogs for the blind on Curaçao). For each five guilders donated, colored squares with a paw print were displayed on bulletin boards at the school to publicly thank the donor for helping out, and to motivating their peers to join in. The result was impressive! A cheque for Nafl 870 was presented to the Curaçao Society for the Protection of Animals on May 27th. As a token of appreciation for their efforts the students received a Reef poster in connection with the International Year of the Reef.
